Abstract: Development of educational ontologies is a step towards creation of sharable and reusable adaptive
educational systems. Ontology as a conceptual courseware structure may work as a mind tool for effective
teaching and as a visual navigation interface to the learning objects. The paper discusses an approach to the
practical ontology development and presents the designed ontology for teaching/learning C programming.

Abstract: An eMathTeacher Sánchez-Torrubia 2007a is an eLearning on line self assessment tool that help
students to active learning math algorithms by themselves, correcting their mistakes and providing them with
clues to find the right solution. The tool presented in this paper is an example of this new concept on Computer
Aided Instruction (CAI) resources and has been implemented as a Java applet and designed as an auxiliary
instrument for both classroom teaching and individual practicing of Fleury’s algorithm. This tool, included within a
set of eMathTeacher tools, has been designed as educational complement of Graph Algorithm active learning for
first course students. Its characteristics of visualization, simplicity and interactivity, make this tutorial a great value

phases of e-learning programmes or e-courses offered by educational institutions. The possibilities for modelling
of an e-project as a specific management process based on planned, dynamically changing or accidentally
arising sequences of learning activities, is discussed. New approaches for project-based and collaborative

Abstract: It is discussed some changes in the traditional e-learning notion on the point of view of R. Koper’s
question 'where is the learning in e-learning?’. We put a focus on the conception of learning as a management
process and present the project Bulgarian Educational Site (BEST) – a possible answer to Koper’s question. The
BEST is a virtual learning environment, based on the following principles: learning is a goal-directed and
didactics-managed process; learners may define their own learning objectives, monitor and regulate the learning
process; collaborative e-learning is more effective; etc. The BEST is based on two famous e-learning systems
(Moodle, LAMS) and Plovdiv e-University (versions 1.0 and 2.0). The paper brings up a mater about the new

Abstract: At present in the educational process of electrical engineering disciplines electronic learning program,
providing control over reproductive educational-cognitive activity (the decision of standard problems) and
universal modeling program systems, for instance Electronics Workbench, giving a chance of organizing
productive, in particular research activity are basically used. However universal modeling program systems can

Abstract: This paper presents a technique for building complex and adaptive meshes for urban and architectural
design. The combination of a self-organizing map and cellular automata algorithms stands as a method for
generating meshes otherwise static. This intends to be an auxiliary tool for the architect or the urban planner,
improving control over large amounts of spatial information. The traditional grid employed as design aid is

Abstract: The Universal Networking Language (UNL) is an interlingua designed to be the base of several natural
language processing systems aiming to support multilinguality in internet. One of the main components of the
language is the dictionary of Universal Words (UWs), which links the vocabularies of the different languages
involved in the project. As any NLP system, coverage and accuracy in its lexical resources are crucial for the
development of the system. In this paper, the authors describes how a large coverage UWs dictionary was

Abstract: Dance videos are interesting and semantics-intensive. At the same time, they are the complex type of
videos compared to all other types such as sports, news and movie videos. In fact, dance video is the one which
is less explored by the researchers across the globe. Dance videos exhibit rich semantics such as macro features
and micro features and can be classified into several types. Hence, the conceptual modeling of the expressive
semantics of the dance videos is very crucial and complex. This paper presents a generic Dance Video
Semantics Model (DVSM) in order to represent the semantics of the dance videos at different granularity levels,
identified by the components of the accompanying song. This model incorporates both syntactic and semantic
features of the videos and introduces a new entity type called, Agent, to specify the micro features of the dance
videos. The instantiations of the model are expressed as graphs. The model is implemented as a tool using J2SE
and JMF to annotate the macro and micro features of the dance videos. Finally examples and evaluation results
are provided to depict the effectiveness of the proposed dance video model.
